Today was a different experience. It was definitely a coaster ride for me. And no, it does not mean it was exhilarating. It was more of a up and down ride of vibes for me.
I started the day watching the sunrise at Mines View with Dani. We had to take silhouette pictures for our photography class. It was a good thing that we waited until the sun actually rose up, and we saw that bright orange orb! Then we walked all the way to town. Though we stopped over at 50’s Diner for breakfast.
Man, it’s been ages since I’ve had pancakes. No joke! My aunt hasn’t made them for breakfast since.. last year! But man, two pieces of pancakes was filling.. No, it was more than filling! And the texture of the pancakes.. they were really fluffy, but they’d melt in your mouth.
Though, at least right now, as I am typing my post, I’d say I’m pretty much okay now compared to how I was hours ago. Whew. Thank heavens that’s over! Though it pretty much inspired me to write something about it. >:)

Portrait in the Market
This is actually one of my shots from the market that we have to submit for our photography class. Yeah, last minute photo walk for me.
Oh, and something real interesting happened this afternoon after class. We (Shauna, Dani, Danjaw, Mitch, and I) were helping out Ma’am Ordonio with cleaning up the mess from DramaFest. And I was typing on the typewriter, inside the store room. I was typing: As the shadows of the night cover the land… When suddenly I heard a rustle from somewhere at the back of the store room, I ran out. Hahaha, but man, I want a type writer! Sir Joey was teasing me that I could buy his but then he added that he’s not selling. Psh.

Blossoms
Today was real hectic and tiring. Mind you, it was also hot that it gave me a real bad headache!
I didn’t get a good sleep. I woke up with a bloody nose. Turned out I had this internal fever going on. But I had to go to school to meet up with my group mates to tally our questionnaires for our thesis.
What I wasn’t expecting after tallying would be a trip to Bell Church. It was my first time to visit the place. Reminded me of Hong Kong, though it’s small compare to Lantau and other monasteries I’ve been to. Shauna, Parker, and I goofed around a little before lighting up incense. We were throwing coins on the so-called wishing well. Parker and I were able to have our coins shoot into the hole, otherwise could be said for Shauna. :P
After waiting for 30 minutes, and playing around, we were able to light up incense, and said our prayers. After that we took a few photos. Parker and I became Shauna’s models for her photography class. We aren’t sure though if we were able to go with the theme.
After the visit, Shauna and I had to go to back to school so we had to part ways with Parker. I stayed at the Mass Communications Laboratory to finish my write-ups for Evolution 2012 (which is tomorrow), and Shauna had to go teach dance steps to the English instructors. I stayed at the lab for 2 hours. Then I went with Shauna to the instructors, and we then headed to the new gym for rehearsals. No, I wasn’t part of the rehearsals, I was just there to submit my write-ups. Then I agreed that I’ll help out tomorrow for the stage make-up for the English Instructors. It’ll be fun! Only, I’ll be missing my photography class! :(
Then I left earlier than Shauna since I didn’t have anything else to do.

Last Curtain Call
SLU’s Drama Festival was held today. Geordane got cast as the main character of their one act play. For someone just joined the festival for the first time, you’d think he was a member for years!
It made me realize that this will be the last time I will be able to watch Drama Fest. It’s my last year, my last semester in college. It’s one of those realizations that will hit you. I gotta be honest, I will miss being a college student. The perks of it: meeting different people; seeing people around you differently; the events that you think are boring but in fact will turn your life around.
I have a few more weeks to go. I want to leave a mark. No, not as the ‘photographer’ my college sees me as; not as the ‘editor’ of the school publication. I want to leave a mark as me, Jinn/Genett, a student, a friend, an older sister, before I bow in front of the audience as I walk the plank.

For someone who is sick, I’m not sure if I made sense. I know, I should have taken a picture of the play itself, or Geordane, but I was busy recording the play with my camera, so no photos. And Geordane was out of sight since he was internalizing his role and was busy painting.
To tell you the truth, they were real good! I just stared the whole time. It was gripping! But I don’t want to watch the video since the whole play gave me goosebumps.

Hold my hand
You know those moments that just strike you and make you think Man, how I wish I could still go back in time and be a kid again. I had one of those today. Just being care-free; running around without a care in the world! Holding your dad’s or mum’s hand like they are the only thing your life depends on.
We forget that time can be cruel too. It may heal wounds but sometimes, it’ll give you pain. It takes away life too. Treasure the present.

First Friday the 13th
I guess you can say that somehow Friday the 13th is bad. Look what happened to me!
This morning started out ok, though I can say that I did have a slight headache but it was nothing. I was able to walk around and get my parcel from the post office. What I didn’t expect was that I’d be down with fever. This sucks. But hey, the best part was getting the parcel, a late present from my best friend, Marina. Nothing beats getting a letter/present via snail mail!

Pleasant Surprises
Who would have thought that the I would end this day smiling broadly?
Today started out as a typical Thursday, jogging with Shauna to wherever our feet takes us. Went home, read some comics, checked some mail; exhausted from all the walking, I slept. Next thing I knew my former Editor-in-Chief was in town! What a surprise! I haven’t seen Kuya in years!
So once I got out of bed in the afternoon, I took a shower and met up with him, but guess what, before that, while waiting for a ride, I decided to check out our mail box, and voila! A registry notice for a parcel! My, oh my! A present! Yes, I have an idea what it is, and from whom, though I cannot say for certain what it really is.
But the down side of this afternoon was my stupidity. I should have checked my camera if I put back the memory card. Geebuz! Thank heavens for my iPod!
Rochelle, our friend, who was also in the publication with us called me up right after I texted her that Kuya is in town. She couldn’t meet up with us since she’s the one who’s out of town ‘cause of her new job. Bummer. But it was fun listening to them talk and catch up a little on the phone.
It was real nice seeing him, Kuya Aaron, again. He told me what it’s like in his current job. Whatever happened in between. Hopefully, I get to see him again soon. And not just him, but my other editors too! I want a reunion with them! Someday soon.
